Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dina, socle mobile by Aristide Maillol was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art auction at Bonhams in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,400.00 (€ 19,147.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aristide Maillol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Riviere, 1938-1943 in December 2013 with an auction result of EUR 6,033,500.00.
