Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work La Méditerranée by Aristide Maillol was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in November 2015. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,165,000.00 (€ 2,049,801.17). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Aristide Maillol - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Riviere, 1938-1943, which sold at auction in December 2013 for EUR 6,033,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit La Méditerranée von Aristide Maillol wurde im November 2015 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 2.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.165.000,00 (€ 2.049.801,17) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Aristide Maillol mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Riviere, 1938-1943 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2013 für EUR 6.033.500,00 versteigert wurde.
