In October 2007 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work Phoenix by Arnold Auerbach. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,250.00 (€ 3,231.15), 50% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Phoenix the most expensive artwork by Arnold Auerbach that we have observed at auctions so far.
