Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Arthur Leipzig achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the Classic & Contemporary Photographs auction, the work Stickball, New York City sold for USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,042.12) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Leipzig - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Subway Lovers, 1949, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 21,250.00 (€ 14,687.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arthur Leipzig erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Classic & Contemporary Photographs wurde die Arbeit Stickball, New York City für USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.042,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Leipzig mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Subway Lovers, 1949 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 21.250,00 (€ 14.687,59) versteigert wurde.
