Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Photogram, 1937 by Arthur Siegel was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,860.75). Admittedly, works by Arthur Siegel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study Of Negative/Positive Profiles, Vers 1937 in November 2015 with an auction result of EUR 17,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Photogram, 1937 von Arthur Siegel im Oktober 2018 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.860,75) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Siegel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Study Of Negative/Positive Profiles, Vers 1937 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 17.500,00.
