Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Monkey Detonator by Banksy was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2021. The price achieved of USD 2,190,000.00 (€ 1,940,285.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,800,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Banksy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Love is in the Bin in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 18,582,000.00 (€ 22,014,651.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Monkey Detonator von Banksy kam im November 2021 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.190.000,00 (€ 1.940.285,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.800.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Banksy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Love is in the Bin im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.582.000,00 (€ 22.014.651,32).
