Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work Nijinski Five by Barry Flanagan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 125,877.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barry Flanagan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nijinski Hare in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 1,451,250.00 (€ 1,684,421.98).
