Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction PhotographsSummer Edition, which included the work Marilyn Monroe, Contact Sheet From "The Last Sitting" by Bert Stern. The price achieved of USD 5,355.00 (€ 4,538.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bert Stern achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marilyn Monroe, 'The Last Sitting', 1962, an exhibition presented at seventh 'Mois de la Photo à Paris', 1992 in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 105,251.81).

Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion PhotographsSummer Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe, Contact Sheet From "The Last Sitting" von Bert Stern zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.355,00 (€ 4.538,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bert Stern erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe, 'The Last Sitting', 1962, an exhibition presented at seventh 'Mois de la Photo à Paris', 1992 im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 146.500,00 (€ 105.251,81).
