Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work High Atlas Walker by Billy Childish. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,040.00 (€ 26,456.32), 15% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Billy Childish have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work toward a shore in March last year with an auction result of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 194,203.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit High Atlas Walker von Billy Childish zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.040,00 (€ 26.456,32) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Billy Childish auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit toward a shore im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 194.203,34).
