Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Transmutations No. III, Odalisque' by Brassaï was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,240.00 (€ 9,387.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Brassaï have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ciel Postiche (False Sky) in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 44,650.00 (€ 50,315.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Transmutations No. III, Odalisque' von Brassaï kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.240,00 (€ 9.387,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Brassaï auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ciel Postiche (False Sky) im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.650,00 (€ 50.315,53).
