In July this year Bonhams held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work From a Wall by Burhan Cahit Doğançay. The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,800.00 (€ 11,615.25), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Burhan Cahit Doğançay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Whispering Wall Ii in April 2011 with an auction result of GBP 277,250.00 (€ 312,231.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit From a Wall von Burhan Cahit Doğançay zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 12.800,00 (€ 11.615,25) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Burhan Cahit Doğançay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Whispering Wall Ii im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 277.250,00 (€ 312.231,28).
