Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Candice Breitz could be acquired at Phillips in New York in May 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AFRICA Theme Sale auction, the work Queen for a day changed hands for USD 500 (€ 404) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000 – 1,500. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Candice Breitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Double Olivia (Hopelessly Devoted To You) in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 11,875 (€ 15,180).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Candice Breitz konnte im Mai 2010 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion AFRICA Theme Sale wechselte die Arbeit Queen for a day für USD 500 (€ 404) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000 – 1.500. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Candice Breitz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Double Olivia (Hopelessly Devoted To You) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.875 (€ 15.180).
