Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Phillips in New York held the auction Saturday@Phillips, which included the work Bobo (from Ghost Write Series) by Candice Breitz. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,160.00 (€ 1,615.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Candice Breitz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Double Olivia (Hopelessly Devoted To You) in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 15,179.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Saturday@Phillips durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bobo (from Ghost Write Series) von Candice Breitz zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.160,00 (€ 1.615,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Candice Breitz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Double Olivia (Hopelessly Devoted To You) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 15.179,78).
