In April 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Frottage P.10 by Chung Sang-Hwa. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 400,000.00 (€ 42,206.39), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chung Sang-Hwa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled 97-3-26 in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 6,440,000.00 (€ 757,854.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im April 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Frottage P.10 von Chung Sang-Hwa zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 42.206,39) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chung Sang-Hwa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled 97-3-26 im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.440.000,00 (€ 757.854,41).
