In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale, which included the work Les Îles À Port-Villez by Claude Monet. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,618,000.00 (€ 3,964,969.52), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Monet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meules in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 110,747,000.00 (€ 99,333,572.52).
