Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale, which included the work Unicorn Wood by David Jones. It changed hands for a price of GBP 13,860.00 (€ 16,150.50) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Jones have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Crucifixion in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 110,615.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unicorn Wood von David Jones zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 13.860,00 (€ 16.150,50) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Jones auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Crucifixion im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 110.615,78).
