Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mrs. T. Charlton Henry in an evening gown, Philadelphia, PA., 1965 by Diane Arbus was sold in the Photographs Including Property from the Museum of Modern Art auction at Christies in New York in October 2017. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,731.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diane Arbus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A box of ten photographs in May this year with an auction result of USD 1,008,000.00 (€ 946,123.52).
