This artwork by Diego Rivera achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale auction, the work Retrato De Columba Domínguez De Fernández sold for USD 7,445,250.00 (€ 6,105,666.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Diego Rivera - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Rivals, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 14,130,000.00 (€ 13,687,881.43).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Diego Rivera erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Retrato De Columba Domínguez De Fernández für USD 7.445.250,00 (€ 6.105.666,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Diego Rivera mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Rivals beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 14.130.000,00 (€ 13.687.881,43) versteigert wurde.
