Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Dorothy Norman could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection auction, the work Selected Works changed hands for USD 2,394.00 (€ 1,957.48) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Dorothy Norman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Clouds in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 7,170.00 (€ 7,964.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dorothy Norman konnte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection wechselte die Arbeit Selected Works für USD 2.394,00 (€ 1.957,48) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dorothy Norman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Clouds im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.170,00 (€ 7.964,90).
