Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Lintern Boy by Edgar Plans was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 240,000.00 – 400,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 163,800.00 (€ 167,271.85). Admittedly, works by Edgar Plans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Juanín in April this year with an auction result of HKD 840,000.00 (€ 857,804.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Lintern Boy von Edgar Plans im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 240.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 163.800,00 (€ 167.271,85) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edgar Plans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Juanín im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 840.000,00 (€ 857.804,35).
