Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Olivia & Juanín - Metal Paper Weight (A Set of Five) by Edgar Plans was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 37,800.00 (€ 38,601.20). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edgar Plans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Juanín in April this year with an auction result of HKD 840,000.00 (€ 857,804.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Olivia & Juanín - Metal Paper Weight (A Set of Five) von Edgar Plans im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 37.800,00 (€ 38.601,20) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edgar Plans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Juanín im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 840.000,00 (€ 857.804,35).
