This artwork by Édouard Manet achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2018. In the Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale auction, the work L'Italienne sold for USD 11,000,000.00 (€ 9,425,878.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Édouard Manet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Grand Canal à Venise in November last year with an auction result of USD 51,915,000.00 (€ 50,290,613.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Édouard Manet erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit L'Italienne für USD 11.000.000,00 (€ 9.425.878,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Édouard Manet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Grand Canal à Venise im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 51.915.000,00 (€ 50.290.613,19).
