Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Christies held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work On The Bridge by Edvard Munch. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 130,895.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edvard Munch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Scream in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 119,922,500.00 (€ 96,993,286.96).
