Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work Abstractions/Kissable by Edward Wadsworth. The price achieved of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 70,454.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Wadsworth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Imaginary Harbour I, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 197,000.00 (€ 232,440.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstractions/Kissable von Edward Wadsworth zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 70.454,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Wadsworth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Imaginary Harbour I beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 197.000,00 (€ 232.440,63) versteigert wurde.
