Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs, which included the work Badwater, Death Valley, 1938 by Edward Weston. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,757.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Weston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,609,000.00 (€ 1,033,530.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Badwater, Death Valley, 1938 von Edward Weston zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.757,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Weston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.609.000,00 (€ 1.033.530,32).
