Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Nude on Sand, Oceano, 1936 by Edward Weston was auctioned at Christies in New York in April last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 107,100.00 (€ 101,641.83). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Weston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,609,000.00 (€ 1,033,530.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Nude on Sand, Oceano, 1936 von Edward Weston kam im April letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 107.100,00 (€ 101.641,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Weston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.609.000,00 (€ 1.033.530,32).
