Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work California (Kiss) by Elliott Erwitt. The price achieved of USD 5,075.00 (€ 4,572.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Elliott Erwitt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'California Kiss', 1955 in May 2016 with an auction result of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 24,466.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit California (Kiss) von Elliott Erwitt zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.075,00 (€ 4.572,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elliott Erwitt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'California Kiss', 1955 im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 24.466,77).
