Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH & CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Reading a letter by Emil Pap. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,560.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emil Pap - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two Ladies Relaxing In An Interior, which sold at auction in October 2000 for GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,640.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH & CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reading a letter von Emil Pap zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.527,50 (€ 2.560,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Emil Pap mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Two Ladies Relaxing In An Interior beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für GBP 5.640,00 (€ 9.640,37) versteigert wurde.
