Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Discoveries, which included the work Portrait de Sylvana Lupo by Émile Bernard. The price achieved of USD 5,670.00 (€ 5,111.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Émile Bernard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bretonnerie (Bretonnes dans une prairie) in November last year with an auction result of USD 3,420,000.00 (€ 3,312,990.41).
