Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vue Sur Tonnerre Avec L'Église Notre Dame by Émile Bernard was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 41,331.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Émile Bernard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bretonnerie (Bretonnes dans une prairie) in November last year with an auction result of USD 3,420,000.00 (€ 3,312,990.41).
