Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2017 Christies in London held the auction Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work Newt Pond by Eric Ravilious. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 93,750.00 (€ 106,420.20), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eric Ravilious - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Aldeburgh Bathing Machines, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 269,000.00 (€ 317,393.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Newt Pond von Eric Ravilious zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 106.420,20) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Eric Ravilious mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Aldeburgh Bathing Machines beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 269.000,00 (€ 317.393,55) versteigert wurde.
