Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner could be acquired at Sothebys in London in June last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction auction, the work Selbstbildnis mit Pfeife (Self-Portrait with a Pipe) changed hands for GBP 6,912,700.00 (€ 8,030,591.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 8,000,000.00 – 12,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Berliner Strassenszene (Recto); Bäume (Verso), which sold at auction in November 2006 for USD 38,096,000.00 (€ 28,727,848.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ernst Ludwig Kirchner konnte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction wechselte die Arbeit Selbstbildnis mit Pfeife (Self-Portrait with a Pipe) für GBP 6.912.700,00 (€ 8.030.591,02) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000.000,00 – 12.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernst Ludwig Kirchner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Berliner Strassenszene (Recto); Bäume (Verso) beobachtet, die im November 2006 für USD 38.096.000,00 (€ 28.727.848,58) versteigert wurde.
