Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of CNY 4,800,000.00 (€ 646,305.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CNY 4,000,000.00 – 5,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fernando Botero have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Musicians in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,132,000.00 (€ 4,704,803.81).

Die Arbeit Woman in a Green Dress von Fernando Botero kam im Oktober 2016 bei Christies in Shanghai zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CNY 4.800.000,00 (€ 646.305,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CNY 4.000.000,00 – 5.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernando Botero auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Musicians im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.132.000,00 (€ 4.704.803,81).
