Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Seven Cloudy Days, Rome, 1977-1978 by Francesca Woodman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,234.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesca Woodman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Polka Dots in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 179,291.80).
