Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work In the Brothel by George Condo was auctioned at Christies in London in October this year. It achieved a price of GBP 1,855,000.00 (€ 2,130,055.36), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 24%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Condo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude and Forms, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 6,162,500.00 (€ 5,280,634.10).

Die Arbeit In the Brothel von George Condo kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.855.000,00 (€ 2.130.055,36) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 24%. Für andere Arbeiten von George Condo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nude and Forms beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 6.162.500,00 (€ 5.280.634,10) versteigert wurde.
