In March 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Passion + Transmission: International Contemporary Art from the CAP Collection, which included the work Aunt Holding Flower by Guo Hongwei. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,704.12), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by Guo Hongwei have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2016 the work Plant No. 12 was auctioned for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 16,180.90).

Im März 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Passion + Transmission: International Contemporary Art from the CAP Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Aunt Holding Flower von Guo Hongwei zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.704,12) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Guo Hongwei konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2016 die Arbeit Plant No. 12 für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 16.180,90) versteigert.
