Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Little Hero by Guo Hongwei was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,286.19). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guo Hongwei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Plant No. 12, which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 16,180.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Little Hero von Guo Hongwei im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.286,19) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Guo Hongwei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Plant No. 12 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 16.180,90) versteigert wurde.
