Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mad Monkey by Hansel Mieth was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2002. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,760.00 (€ 4,342.80). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hansel Mieth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rhesus Monkey, which sold at auction in April 2021 for USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,473.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mad Monkey von Hansel Mieth kam im Februar 2002 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.760,00 (€ 4.342,80) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Hansel Mieth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rhesus Monkey beobachtet, die im April 2021 für USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.473,82) versteigert wurde.
