Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs, which included the work Death of A Monarch by John Alexander Harington Bird. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,138.45) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Alexander Harington Bird have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Arab horses in the desert in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 13,145.00 (€ 19,563.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Death of A Monarch von John Alexander Harington Bird zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.138,45) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Alexander Harington Bird auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Arab horses in the desert im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.145,00 (€ 19.563,70).
