Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2012 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work An Arab stallion and a mare with their handler in the desert by John Alexander Harington Bird. The price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,207.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Alexander Harington Bird have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Arab horses in the desert in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 13,145.00 (€ 19,563.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Arab stallion and a mare with their handler in the desert von John Alexander Harington Bird zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.207,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Alexander Harington Bird auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Arab horses in the desert im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.145,00 (€ 19.563,70).
