Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rocksand With Jockey Up by John Alexander Harington Bird was sold in the Sporting & Wildlife Art auction at Christies in London in December 2014. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,436.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Alexander Harington Bird - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arab horses in the desert, which sold at auction in June 2004 for GBP 13,145.00 (€ 19,563.70).
