Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fire by Helen Frankenthaler was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art, Evening Sale Part II auction at Phillips in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 2,480,000.00 (€ 2,273,560.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Helen Frankenthaler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Royal Fireworks, which sold at auction in June 2020 for USD 7,895,300.00 (€ 7,029,917.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fire von Helen Frankenthaler wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art, Evening Sale Part II bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.480.000,00 (€ 2.273.560,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Helen Frankenthaler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Royal Fireworks beobachtet, die im Juni 2020 für USD 7.895.300,00 (€ 7.029.917,19) versteigert wurde.
