Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled X by Hema Upadhyay was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 875.00 (€ 635.12). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hema Upadhyay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 1,027,500.00 (€ 84,590.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled X von Hema Upadhyay im März 2014 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 875,00 (€ 635,12) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hema Upadhyay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.027.500,00 (€ 84.590,46).
