Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fish Vendor, Bali by Hendra Gunawan was sold in the Contemporaries: Voices from East and West / Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 2,100,000.00 (€ 239,791.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendra Gunawan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ali Sadikin Pada Masa Perang Kemerdekaan (Ali Sadikin During The Independence Struggle) in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 33,240,000.00 (€ 3,744,983.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fish Vendor, Bali von Hendra Gunawan wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Contemporaries: Voices from East and West / Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 2.100.000,00 (€ 239.791,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
