Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work William Faulkner, Oxford, Mississippi, 1947 by Henri Cartier-Bresson was auctioned at Christies in New York in October this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 15,120.00 (€ 14,307.34). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Cartier-Bresson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On the Banks of the Marne, France in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 195,043.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit William Faulkner, Oxford, Mississippi, 1947 von Henri Cartier-Bresson kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 15.120,00 (€ 14.307,34) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Cartier-Bresson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On the Banks of the Marne, France im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 195.043,60).
