Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale, which included the work Petite femme au miroir by Henri Laurens. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,760.00 (€ 38,840.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Laurens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Boxeur in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 2,055,000.00 (€ 2,292,195.94).
