Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art | London, which included the work Portrait of the Artist Contemplating, Van Gogh - No. 6 by Henry Hudson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,841.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry Hudson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 19:34:35 - 19:34:36 in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art | London durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of the Artist Contemplating, Van Gogh - No. 6 von Henry Hudson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.841,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Hudson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 19:34:35 - 19:34:36 im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19).
