In April 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Stephanie, Cindy, Christy, Tatjana, Naomi, Hollywood, 1989 by Herb Ritts. The »bidding war« ended at USD 106,250.00 (€ 92,867.76), 52% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Herb Ritts - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Versace Dress, Back View, El Mirage, which sold at auction in May 2015 for GBP 158,500.00 (€ 220,377.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen
Im April 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stephanie, Cindy, Christy, Tatjana, Naomi, Hollywood, 1989 von Herb Ritts zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 92.867,76) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Herb Ritts mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Versace Dress, Back View, El Mirage beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für GBP 158.500,00 (€ 220.377,57) versteigert wurde.
