Upper estimate price exceeded by 39 %.
The work Gemsbok, 1980 by Hiroshi Sugimoto was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in April 2016. It achieved a price of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,851.24), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 39%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
