Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Art of Collecting: A Pacific Island Connoisseur of Art and Design, which included the work MoMA Bauhaus Stairway, 2013 by Hiroshi Sugimoto. The price achieved of USD 100,800.00 (€ 92,715.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
